RNC Chair Reince Priebus Lies About GOP Cuts To Health Care During Ebola Scares (VIDEO)

Serial Prevaricator, Koch-infested white boy and Chairman of the Republican National Committee, Reince Priebus has engaged in his favorite pastime again. So, of course, he went on FOX News to do it.

Priebus was responding to an ad by the group, Agenda Project Action fund which rightfully pointed out the damage republican funding cuts has done to readiness in fighting outbreaks of diseases like Ebola:

Priebus tried to turn the onus back on to the President saying,

“They’re walking this dangerous path of trying to point out blame on Ebola when, in fact, if you look at the president’s record on anything from ISIS to the Secret Service to the CDC to Syria to the border, I mean, you name it and for whatever reason, every single thing the administration as well as these Democrats running for office touches, it’s not turning to gold, I can tell you that. It’s turning into something else.”

Of course, in truth, those cuts have hurt.

As NIH (National Institute of Health) representative, Anthony Fauci said about the cuts from the sequester,

“I have to tell you honestly it’s been a significant impact on us. It has both in an acute and a chronic, insidious way eroded our ability to respond in the way that I and my colleagues would like to see us be able to respond to these emerging threats. And in my institute particularly, that’s responsible for responding on the dime to an emerging infectious disease threat, this is particularly damaging.”

Couple that with annual cuts year after year and the problem becomes acute. The CDC Public Health Preparedness Funding budget for fiscal 2013 is just 53% of what it was in 2006.

Priebus’ casual relationship with the truth has been called into questions many times since he became one of the principle spokesmen for the GOP.  Most recently while discussing the recently hotly debated Texas abortion restrictions that were just blocked by the Supreme Court.

He was also called out by Politifact for false claims about campaign spending in the Wisconsin governor Scott Walker (R) recall elections.
