FL Gov. Rick Scott Dodges Questions About Illegal Use Of Cops At Campaign Event (VIDEO)

On Monday, at an appearance at the Armed Forces Museum in Key Largo, Florida, Koch-supported Republican Governor Rick Scott was repeatedly asked about his recent use of on-duty law enforcement officers as props during a campaign event – a violation of state law.

Last week, The Tampa Tribune reported the story, saying;

“At least a half-dozen on-duty law officers in uniform took part in a re-election event Monday for Gov. Rick Scott despite Florida laws saying public employees must avoid political activity during working hours.”

The paper said that the officers “…provided Scott with a backdrop of uniformed law officers him as local TV news crews filmed him talking about reductions in crime during his administration.”

Not surprisingly, SLICK RICK – who is no stranger to controversy – claimed he thought the law enforcement officers were off duty. The officers, however, claimed they were duped into the appearance.

Video of that event can be seen HERE:

Today, when pressed by local media on whether the Governor actually thought the officers were off-duty, Scott repeatedly parroted the same carefully-crafted response.

Rick Scott is currently locked in a tight race with challenger Charlie Christ – a Republican-turned-Independent-turned Democrat.
