Pelosi Slams SCOTUS McCutcheon Ruling; Pushes For Constitutional Amendment (VIDEO)

On Thursday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi slammed the recent Supreme Court McCutcheon v. Federal Election Commission ruling that allows for unlimited campaign contributions to candidates and PACS. The move will open the floodgates for the monied interests to virtually dominate the democratic process and heavily influence legislation to benefit those that spend the most.

In a press conference, Pelosi (D-CA) pushed for transparency in campaign spending. She also pushed for a Constitutional amendment and renewed a push for the Democrat-led DARE, or “disclose, amend, reform and empower,” agenda;

“The Chamber of Commerce told us that if their members had to disclose, they wouldn’t give to these secret PACs…”

According to Politico, Pelosi is “pursuing legislation that would require immediate disclosure of large donations and also wants to pass a constitutional amendment to overturn the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision, which also loosened campaign finance rules.”

Pelosi added;

“…Our founders sacrificed everything — their lives, their liberty, their sacred honor — for a democracy. A government of the many, not a government of the money…”
